The Story
The lesser-known Licuala Peltata is a timeless, show-stopping plant. Similar to the Licaua Grandis, this plant has a crown of broad, pleated, and fan-shaped leaves. However, the Licuala Peltata has splits in its leaves appearing star-like.
Native to Southeast Asia, Australia, and the Pacific Islands, this palm loves humidity. It does best in bright, indirect light. While it can handle some dappled sunlight, too much direct sun will scorch the leaves!
Water when the top 2-3" of soil is dry and watch out for the sharp, serrated edges of the leaves, as well as the thorny stems!Â
Due to the nature of this palm's fronds, it is highly recommended to wipe it down with a damp towel at least once a week.
